Healthcare providers endorse bundling prone positioning and high-flow oxygenation therapy for critical care and COVID-19 patients to improve lung secretion drainage, airflow, and oxygenation. Early facial pressure injury interventions also boost treatment outcomes.

Pressure injuries (PI) impact over 7 million patients per year globally. US healthcare alone reports more than 2.5 million PI cases, over 60 000 deaths, and at least USD 9-11 billion in cost per year.
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) affects an estimated 1.5 billion adults globally. It imposes a significant risk of developing chronic health conditions, including hypertension, heart failure, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, stroke, metabolic syndrome, type II diabetes, depression, cardiac arrest and respiratory failure, cancer, and a shorter lifespan.
Venous thromboembolism (VTE) — includes deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) — affects 1 out every 1000 inpatients in the US and is the second leading cause of medical complications resulting in lengthening hospital stays.

Patient care education made accessible to everyone.

A recent real-world study, published in the Journal of Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing, followed 86 patients over a 35-day period. These patients were classified as having a medium to high risk for PIs and spent over 15 hours a day on a P-APAM. The results were astounding:
Zero Pressure Injuries: None of the patients developed any stage 2 or higher PIs during the study (Incidence = 0%).
High Comfort and Satisfaction: 77.9% of patients rated the mattress’s comfort as satisfactory or very satisfactory. Caregivers also reported ease of use and maintenance.
Quiet and Stable: Patients appreciated the low noise level, with 100% satisfaction for quietness and mattress stability.
